Thomas A. Gibson is a partner with Robison, Curphey & O'Connell and represents clients in a wide range of matters including construction, development, commercial and industrial real estate purchase/sale, financing, leasing, and joint venturing as well as environmental matters and other commercial transactions. He is licensed to practice law in both Kentucky and Ohio.
Prior to entering the
practice of law, Tom was a civil engineer practicing in the
areas of environmental engineering.
Tom earned his Juris Doctor degree (with high honors) and his undergraduate degree from the University of Toledo. He joined RC&O in 1986.
PRACTICE DETAILS
Real Estate Law.
Provides services in all phases of buying and selling of residential, vacation and commercial real estate including the acquisition and sale of business entities.
Environmental Law.
Tom has a great deal of experience investigating, evaluating and assessing risks of environmental matters relating to real estate acquisition and development. He has represented clients in matters relating to past or current solid/hazardous waste disposal, remediation including liability arising under CERCLA (Superfund), RCRA, Oil Pollution Act of 1990 as well as related state statutory regulations.
Corporate Law. Advises shareholders, directors, partners, and owners in corporate and entity governance, business succession and planning issues and capital transactions.
Tax Law. Tom counsels clients in creative ways to eliminate or reduce taxes and administrative expenses.
Commercial Transactions. Tom assists in the negotiation and consummation of mergers and acquisitions and advises clients on distribution, licensing and other commercial arrangements.
