        Scott T. Janson is a partner with Robison, Curphey & O’Connell and his practice is focused in the areas of estate planning, trust administration, tax planning and business succession planning, entity formation, operation and termination. Scott has extensive experience in trust investment, administration, portfolio management and estate administration.

PRACTICE DETAILS

        Estate Planning. Scott assists clients with their estate planning to ensure that their property is distributed according to their wishes, taxes are reduced or eliminated to the extent possible, and administrative expenses are minimized.

        Trust Administration. Scott assists clients in developing estate plans for the orderly and economical transfer of accumulated wealth or other business interests to family members both during life and at death. This may include the use of a wide variety of documents and techniques such as wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, limited liability companies and family limited partnerships, irrevocable life insurance trusts, including spousal lifetime access trusts, conservation easements, charitable lead and remainder trusts and various gifting and transfer plans.

        Tax Planning. Scott works with clients to develop strategies to minimize transfer taxes and protect and preserve assets.

        Succession Planning. Scott advises small business owners on issues involving estate planning and administration, succession planning, business structure and commercial and alternative financing, and real estate transactions.

        Business Transactions. Scott advises clients in the formation, organization, operation and termination of business entities such as partnerships, corporations and limited liability companies, as well as transactions involving the acquisition or sale of business assets or interests, along with the preparation of private placement offerings, leveraged buy-outs, and lender negotiations and work-outs.
