Jim Knepp is a partner and member of the management committee of RCO and has extensive experience in the areas of medical malpractice/medical device defense, transportation and general litigation.
Growing up on a farm in northeast Ohio, Jim has agricultural roots. Before attending law school, Jim worked as a radio sportscaster and followed a regional motorsports circuit as a tractor pull announcer. He graduated as class valedictorian, 1992 University of Toledo College of Law; and then served as a law clerk to the Honorable John W. Potter, United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, Western Division (1992-94). He earned his Master’s degree from Bowling Green State University and his undergraduate degree (with high honors) from Mount Union College.
AREAS OF PRACTICE
General litigation. Jim has had substantial litigation experience in federal and state courts, including successful trial and appellate level defense of death and serious injury cases, class action litigation, commercial litigation, and agricultural law.
Healthcare. Jim has represented hospitals and physicians in the trial and appellate courts of Ohio.
Product Liability. Jim has defended medical device claims including serious injury and death.
Transportation. Jim has extensive experience representing railroads at the trial and appellate level, and is designated national counsel for the locomotive video program of a Class I railroad.
