Jean M. O’Brien is of counsel with RCO and represents physicians, hospitals, and other health care entities and practitioners in medical malpractice actions and issues related to licensure, contracts, credentialing, and practice issues. Jean is a registered nurse with ten years experience in health care risk management. She is licensed to practice law in both Michigan and Ohio.
Additionally, she works with hospitals and practitioners in expanding and integrating practice components and the sale, acquisition and custom mergers of medical practices.
Jean graduated from the University of Toledo, earning her Juris Doctor degree in 1988. She earned a nursing degree in 1972 from Olivet Nazarene University. She joined RCO in 1986.
AREAS OF PRACTICE
Medical malpractice.
Jean advises and assists health care entities with claims and risk management systems. She also advises hospitals and licensed practitioners regarding billing practices, false claims allegations, and fraud and abuse issues.
Professional liability. Jean’s work focuses on hospital and physician defense which includes hospital premises claims and confidentiality issues.
