        Jason M. Van Dam is an associate attorney with Robison, Curphey & O’Connell and has experience in general civil litigation, with an emphasis on medical and legal malpractice, railroad litigation, and insurance defense. Jason also has experience handling employment and immigration issues. Jason also presents to a variety of audiences on medical malpractice, employment, and immigration issues.

PRACTICE DETAILS

        Civil Litigation and Appellate Advocacy. Jason represents and defends businesses and individuals in commercial disputes and personal injury and intentional tort lawsuits. He represents clients in both state and federal courts throughout Ohio, including appellate courts and the Supreme Court of Ohio. Jason’s litigation practice includes:

• Professional Malpractice.  Jason represents hospitals, nurses, healthcare employees, and other lawyers in the defense of professional liability lawsuits and related appeals.

• Insurance.  Jason represents insurance companies and defends insureds in various claims, including personal injury and employer intentional tort lawsuits.

• Railroad.  Jason represents railroads in the defense of F.E.L.A. lawsuits and other injury cases.

• Commercial.  Jason advises and represents large and small businesses with the handling of various contractual issues and litigation.

       Employment Law.  Jason counsels clients regarding the many state and federal issues affecting the employer/employee relationship, including unemployment compensation, workers' compensation, discrimination, and immigration concerns.  His proactive rangers from pro-active planning to litigation.

      Immigration Law.  Jason assists both employers and individuals in navigating the various complexities of immigration planning, compliance and procedure, including handling and advising on both employment- and family-based immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitions.
