About Corey

Corey is a civil litigator focusing on medical malpractice defense and commercial disputes in Ohio and Michigan. His practice encompasses all phases of litigation from pre-suit investigation to new case filing through verdict.

Corey has briefed and argued appeals in several of Ohio's appellate districts and before the Ohio Supreme Court. In December 2020, Corey, along with estate planning colleagues, won a unanimous Ohio Supreme Court reversal that determined that Ohio’s Voiding Statute applies to all written wills admitted to Probate Court.

In the healthcare space, Corey represents physicians and hospital systems in professional negligence actions, including medical malpractice, nursing home negligence and pharmaceutical negligence. He lectures frequently to healthcare groups on topics aimed at risk avoidance.

Corey also represents clients in residential and commercial development, manufacturing, federal contracting, and healthcare involving contract disputes, non-compete agreements, and restrictive covenants, as well as on real estate, commercial brokerage and fiduciary duty claims, non-disclosure, and construction defects.

Before joining RCO Law, Corey invested 10 years representing plaintiffs in medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and class action civil rights matters, and maintains a personal injury practice. As a result, he has special insight into the motivations and methods of parties on both sides of litigation.

Corey is the Northwest Ohio representative for the Society for Health Care Attorneys–Ohio Society of Health Care Risk Managers (SOHA-OSHRM). SOHA advances health care law among Ohio attorneys. OSHRM provides networking and educational opportunities for risk managers.
