Tom’s practice covers a wide range of business areas including construction, development, commercial and industrial real estate purchase/sale, financing, leasing, and joint venturing, as well as environmental matters and other commercial transactions.
Prior to entering the practice of law, Tom worked as a civil engineer for five years at a consulting firm in Toledo, Ohio. That work was primarily in the areas of municipal water and wastewater treatment and environmental engineering.

Tom represents a number of real estate investment companies and has assisted these clients in purchases and sales of real estate. Tom assisted one of these clients in a major shift of focus from single city residential rental real estate holdings to a national presence in triple net commercial rental properties.
Tom represents one of the preeminent heavy equipment auction companies in the country that conducts both traditional live auctions as well as online auctions. These auctions attract national and international buyers and sellers and often involve complicated legal issues and problems.
Tom assisted a “non-auction” client in the public auction sale of a multi-parcel recreational property.
Tom has represented clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to family owned business in environmental liability, compliance, and enforcement actions, as well as risk assessment efforts associated business acquisitions.
Tom represents several small to medium size companies on an ongoing long term basis, in effect, acting as their general counsel and providing advice and guidance on all aspects of their business.
Tom assisted a long time client to reorganize its ownership and operations structure to recognize respective owners’ varying commitments to different geographical locations of the business.
I have lived in the Toledo area my entire life and still live in the city where my wife and I have raised two sons. When not in the office, I can generally be found working on some sort of home improvement project at my home or the home of one of our sons.
