Attorneys Bill Beach and Amy Luck To Speak at Center for Nonprofit Resources Workshop on April 28
April 7, 2022
The Center for Noprofit Resources and Toledo Bar Association are teaming up to
offer a free workshop "Labor and Employment Update: Managing Employer and
Employee Expectations During COVID," on Thursday, April 28, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
at The Toledo Club. RCO Law Labor and Employment Attorneys Bill Beach and Amy Luck
will lead this workshop that will focus on understanding COVID mandates and
accommodations for employees.
During the pandemic, employers realized many positions can be performed effectively
offsite if the employer approves and provides the necessary equipment and technical
support. Learn about why employers are encouraged to establish specific policies
regarding remote work and offering flexibility for employees. Guidance will also include
ADA, FMLA and leave requests.
Employee discipline will be addressed. It is important that employers have a written
discipline policy that is realistic and enforceable. It could include a step-by-step process
that begins with a verbal warning and can lead to suspension and eventually termination,
but it can also be tailored to the individual employer.
Bill and Amy will also discuss distinguishing between independent contractors,
employees and volunteers, as well as the essential updates on policies and procedures for employee handbooks. To learn more and to register, click here.
